Understanding the Marketplace Mapping Template
The Microsoft Marketplace template is divided into four sections:
- Fields
- Plan
- Metadata
- Recipient Source
Fig. 5
Each section contains Microsoft Marketplace fields that can be mapped to Salesforce fields or configured with default values.
Marketplace Mapping Fields

Fields Tab
The Fields tab is where Salesforce fields are mapped to Microsoft Marketplace Private Offer fields.
Fig. 6
Field Mapping Columns
Each row contains the following columns:
| Column | Description |
|---|---|
| Fields to map | The Microsoft Marketplace Private Offer field available for mapping. |
| Field Type | The required Salesforce field type (Text, Picklist, Date, File, etc.). |
| Salesforce fields | The Salesforce object and field mapped to the Microsoft Marketplace field. |
| Default Value | A static value automatically populated when creating a Private Offer. |
Table 1
π Please note: Users can configure either:
- a Salesforce field mapping
OR
- a default value
A field cannot use both simultaneously.
Hidden and Read-Only Fields
The final columns provide additional control over how fields appear when creating Private Offers.
| Setting | Description |
|---|---|
| Hidden | Hides the field from the Private Offer creation page. |
| Read Only | Displays the field but prevents users from editing it. |
Table 2
π Please note: If a field is marked as Hidden, the Read Only option is automatically disabled.
Plan Tab
The Plan tab allows you to configure the product plans and plan-specific dimensions associated with the Microsoft Marketplace Private Offer.
Plans are organized into sections based on the corresponding Marketplace product or offer. Each section contains one or more product dimensions that can be mapped to Salesforce fields or assigned a default value.
Plan Mapping Columns
Each plan section contains the following columns:
| Column | Description |
|---|---|
| Product dimensions | The Marketplace plan dimension or value that can be configured for the Private Offer. |
| Salesforce fields | The Salesforce field mapped to the corresponding product dimension. |
| Default value | A static value that is automatically populated when creating the Private Offer. |
Table 2
Fig. 7
Configuring Plan Dimensions
For each product dimension, you can either:
- Select a Salesforce field from the dropdown to dynamically populate the value, or
- Enter a Default value to use the same value for every Private Offer created from the template.
A product dimension cannot use both a Salesforce field mapping and a default value simultaneously.
Plan dimensions are grouped by the associated Marketplace offer or product. For example, a template may contain sections such as:
-
Labra.io β Proposity to Buy
- Labra PTB Base plan
- Labra PTB Base plan
-
PRD Portal Flat Rate Test Offer
- PRD Flat Rate scans Marketing
- PRD Flat Rate Single Dimension
- PRD Flat Rate Multi Dimension
-
PRD Portal per User Test Offer
- PRD per user Corporate
- PRD per user Student
-
Labra Container
- PlanDim1
- PlanDim2
- PlanDim3
- PlanDim4
- PlanDim5
This configuration allows different Marketplace plans and dimensions to be populated automatically based on the Salesforce data associated with the Private Offer.
Fig. 8
π Please note: If a Salesforce field is selected, the mapped Salesforce value takes precedence over a manually entered default value. To use a static value, leave the Salesforce field mapping unselected and enter the desired value under Default value.
Metadata Tab
The Metadata tab allows you to configure the global metadata fields that are included when creating a Microsoft Marketplace Private Offer.
Metadata can be used to define additional information required for each Offer or Agreement. Administrators can create multiple metadata entries and configure their corresponding Salesforce object and value.
Fig. 9
Metadata Configuration Columns
Each metadata entry contains the following columns:
| Column | Description |
|---|---|
| Key | The metadata key or name used to identify the metadata field. |
| Object | The Salesforce object associated with the metadata field. |
| Value | The value assigned to the metadata field. |
| Read Only | Determines whether the metadata value can be edited when creating the Private Offer. |
Table 3
Creating Metadata
To add a metadata field:
- Enter the metadata Key.
- Select the corresponding Salesforce Object from the dropdown.
- Enter the required Value.
- Select Read Only if the value should not be editable during Private Offer creation.
- To add additional metadata fields, click + New metadata.
π Please note: All Global Metadata fields configured in the template are mandatory for each Offer or Agreement.
For picklist fields, the first value is automatically considered the default value.
You can remove an existing metadata entry by clicking the Delete icon next to the corresponding row.
Recipient Source Tab
The Recipient Source tab allows you to define where recipient information is retrieved from when creating a Microsoft Marketplace Private Offer.
The configured Salesforce source determines which records are available for selection as recipients during the Private Offer creation process.
Fig. 10
Selecting the Recipient Source
The Choose source of recipient section allows you to select the Salesforce source used to retrieve recipient information.
Select one of the following options:
| Option | Description |
|---|---|
| Contacts | Retrieves recipient information from Salesforce Contact records. |
| Contact Roles | Retrieves recipient information based on Contact Role records associated with Salesforce records. |
Table 4
To configure the recipient source:
- Under Choose source of recipient, select the Salesforce object from which recipients should be retrieved.
- Select either Contacts or Contact Roles.
The selected source determines the recipient records available when creating a Microsoft Marketplace Private Offer from the template.
π Please note: Only one recipient source can be selected for each template.
Saving and Managing Marketplace Templates
Once all desired mappings have been configured, click Save.
Fig. 11
