AWS Marketplace Vendor Insights: How to Set It Up

AWS Marketplace Vendor Insights allows you to share your security and compliance information (SOC 2, ISO, etc.) in a standardized format—so buyers can review it directly within your Marketplace listing.

🚀 How to Add Vendor Insights

➡️  Step 1: Enroll in Vendor Insights

• Go to the AWS Marketplace Management Portal
• Navigate to: Settings → Vendor Insights
• Click “Get Started” or “Create Profile”

➡️  Step 2: Complete Your Security Profile

You’ll be asked to provide:

• Company and security overview
• Compliance certifications (e.g., SOC 2, ISO 27001)
• Responses to AWS security questionnaire (CAIQ-lite style)
• Supporting documentation (PDFs, reports)

➡️  Step 3: Upload Supporting Evidence

Typical uploads include:

• SOC 2 Type II report
• ISO certificates
• Security policies (optional, but recommended)

➡️  Step 4: Submit for AWS Review

• AWS will review your submission
• They may request clarifications or updates
• Once approved → your profile is published

➡️  Step 5: Automatic Listing Integration

Once approved:

• Your Vendor Insights profile is automatically linked to your Marketplace listings
• Buyers will see a “Security Profile / Vendor Insights” section

📒  Important Notes

1. Account-level setup
   Vendor Insights applies to your entire Marketplace account—not individual products

2. Review timeline
   Approval typically takes a few days to a couple of weeks

3. Not mandatory—but highly recommended
   Especially for:

• Enterprise deals
• Co-sell / ACE opportunities

• Keep responses consistent with your SOC 2 (or equivalent) reports
• Avoid leaving sections blank—this can delay or block approval
• Use clear, security-focused language (avoid marketing phrasing)
