1. Introduction
This guide walks you through the full process of publishing your product on Google Cloud Marketplace with Labra.
You’ll learn:
What needs to be prepared before onboarding begins
Which steps your team will complete
What Labra manages on your behalf
What to expect at each stage of the journey
Publishing on Google Cloud Marketplace opens a powerful enterprise sales channel for SaaS companies. However, the process involves multiple Google systems, technical integrations, and an approval review.
Labra simplifies this process by managing the Marketplace workstreams while guiding your team through the required steps.
📒 Our goal is simple: help you get your product live as smoothly and quickly as possible.
How to Use This Guide
Each phase in this guide clearly shows who is responsible for the step.
Customer-Owned
These steps must be completed by your team before the process can continue.
Labra
Labra executes these steps and keeps you updated along the way.
Shared
These steps require collaboration between your team and Labra.
If a step requires action from your team, we’ll clearly call it out so nothing gets missed.
2. How We Work Together
Labra acts as your Marketplace execution partner. Our team handles the Marketplace-specific work while your team provides product details, infrastructure access, and engineering support when needed.
Below is the typical division of responsibilities.
| Workstream | Labra Handles | Your Team Handles |
|---|---|---|
| Marketplace Strategy & Listing | Listing creation, pricing configuration, Producer Portal setup | Provide product descriptions, assets, pricing input, and final approvals |
| Technical Integration | Entitlement configuration, metering setup, Pub/Sub configuration | Provide endpoints and engineering support for testing |
| Validation & Testing | Execute entitlement, metering, and end-to-end purchase testing | Engineering availability for troubleshooting |
| Google Coordination | Communication with Google Marketplace teams | Respond to any legal or business requests from Google |
| Go-Live | Publication coordination and final testing | Confirm payout setup and validate listing from a buyer perspective |
| Infrastructure | — | Your GCP environment, SaaS architecture, and cloud setup |
3. Scope of the Engagement
To set clear expectations, it's important to understand what Labra manages and what remains with your team.
What Labra Manages
Labra manages everything related to Google Cloud Marketplace itself, including:
Producer Portal configuration
Listing creation and pricing setup
Marketplace API integration
Entitlement and metering validation
Testing the purchase flow
Managing Google’s listing review process
-
Troubleshooting Marketplace-specific issues
📒 We also coordinate directly with Google Partner Engineering during the onboarding process.
What Your Team Manages
Your team owns the Google Cloud environment and SaaS product infrastructure, including:
Your Google Cloud Organization
Billing account and project creation
IAM permissions and role assignments
SaaS application infrastructure
Google Partner Advantage enrollment
Completing Google's Solution Validation (if required)
Submitting Google’s Marketplace Project Info Form
-
Responding to business or legal requests from Google during review
Infrastructure Note
Labra focuses on the Marketplace layer, not infrastructure deployment
If your product is not yet running on Google Cloud, we can introduce you to trusted cloud system integrators (SIs) who specialize in GCP migrations and infrastructure setup.
Once your environment is ready, we immediately continue the Marketplace onboarding process.
4. Understanding Google’s Two Systems
One of the most common sources of confusion during onboarding is that Google uses two completely separate platforms.
They serve different purposes and do not share access, permissions, or data.
| Platform | Purpose |
|---|---|
| Google Partner Advantage (Partner Hub) | Company registration, partner program enrollment, Vendor Agreement, and Solution Validation |
| Google Cloud Marketplace Producer Portal | Listing creation, pricing, API integration, reporting, and publishing |
Access Requirements
| System | Access Requirement |
|---|---|
| Partner Hub | Google account and Partner Advantage enrollment |
| Producer Portal | Access granted only after submitting the Cloud Marketplace Project Info Form |
Labra’s Role
Partner Hub: advisory guidance only
-
Producer Portal: Labra manages and configures your listing
Important
Being enrolled in Partner Advantage does not automatically give you access to Producer Portal.
Producer Portal access is provisioned by Google after submission of the Cloud Marketplace Project Info Form.
5. Onboarding Overview
The onboarding process follows a structured sequence of phases.
Each phase builds on the previous one, so steps must be completed in order.
Phase Summary
| Phase | Description |
|---|---|
| Phase 0 | Readiness validation |
| Phase 0.1 | Solution validation (if required) |
| Phase 0.2 | Marketplace Project Info Form |
| Phase 1 | Marketplace project creation |
| Phase 2 | IAM role configuration |
| Phase 3 | Producer Portal setup |
