In this article, we’ll walk you through the information required to create an Amazon Machine Image (AMI) listing on AWS Marketplace.
Creating an AWS Marketplace AMI listing can be a complex and time-consuming process. It requires inputs from multiple teams (product, engineering, security, and finance) and strict adherence to AWS Marketplace requirements.
With Labra, customers don’t need to interact directly with the AWS Marketplace listing creation flow. Instead, we handle the listing creation on your behalf, using the information you provide.
To help you prepare in advance and avoid delays, we’ve compiled a clear checklist of everything we’ll need from you to successfully publish your AMI listing.
1. Prerequisites
Before starting the AWS Marketplace listing process, confirm that all required technical inputs are available.
1.1 AMI Must Already Exist
The AMI must be created before starting the AWS Marketplace listing.
The AMI must exist in the seller’s AWS account.
AMI creation is typically handled by the customer’s DevOps or engineering team.
An AMI listing cannot be created without an existing AMI ID.
