What are Private Offers (POs)?
For software vendors on Azure Marketplace, one-size-fits-all pricing can feel limiting. Enter Private Offers, your key to crafting bespoke deals that cater to specific customer needs and unlock new growth opportunities.
Fields definition
Let's do a deep dive into the fields required to create a Private Offer and things to keep in mind while doing so:
- Buyer Name - Company name of the buyer to whom the offer is getting raised.
- Offer Name - Keep this as user-friendly as possible. The buyer sees this name in the list in the process of accepting the offer.
- Billing Account ID - The billing account id of the customer that will be accepting the offer. It usually looks like this 5c99a259-e790-5860-9ed9-853165254328:a481df8f-65e5-4dfe-be38-001af0c9a2e5_2019-05-31 or 83218001.
- Offer Expiration Date - The date on which the offer will expire, i.e., the offer has to be accepted before this date.
- Offer description(optional) - This is an internal field for your own reference.
- Offer recipients - Add details of the recipients on the buyer end who will be reviewing and accepting the offer.
- Custom email message - Custom message that goes to the recipient with the offer details.
- Purchase Start Month - Two options - Accepted date or specific start month. This implies the period the buyer has to purchase the offer which is the second step after accepting the offer. If accepted date is selected then that means that the buyer can immediately purchase the offer. If future month is selected then it means that the buyer can accept the offer right away but purchase can only be done from selected month onwards.
- Purchase End Month - This marks the end month of the duration available to make the purchase to the buyer.
- EULA - This is an optional field. The agreed quote or service EULA can be attached with the offer. By default Standard Microsoft EULA is attached to the offer.
- Renewal - In case the offer is being created to renew an existing subscription either on Azure Marketplace or from another channel.

Pricing - Pricing configuration depends on the kind of product that is chosen.

Non-metering products
- Discount - Under discount pricing choose a specific discount percentage that you would like to apply to the public pricing. Also choose the contract duration available to the buyer. Contract runs from the time purchase is made till the duration selected here.

Absolute - Under absolute pricing, you can enter the exact discounted amount that the is agreed with the customer. Also choose the contract duration available to the buyer. Contract runs from the time purchase is made till the duration selected here. Additionally under absolute pricing, user can define instalment based pricing as well.

Metering products
- Along with absolute or discount pricing chosen above, you need to set prices and base quantity of each metering dimension.

Add base quantity and price per payment after the customer crosses that base quantity limit for each dimension as shown in the image below. Choose unlimited if that dimension has no limit of usage.

Non-metering products
- Custom metadata - Add key value pair thats going to help you identify this offer and its content. For eg - quote id, deal id, opportunity id etc.
- Stakeholders - Add your internal company stakeholders to the offer so that they can be notified for important offer events as well.

Steps after a Private Offer is created
- When a Private Offer is created, its Status shows 'Offer Creation', and the status keeps on progressing if Sent to, Viewed, or Accepted by the Buyer
- View More Details - To view the details of the created Private Offer.

Cancel Offer - There is a 'Cancel Offer' option if the Seller wants to cancel the offer for the buyer. To cancel the offer the status of the offer should be either 'Offer Sent' or 'Offer Viewed'.
⚠️ The canceled offer can't be reversed.
